Practice the Decisions Boards Face

Case discussions, reflection and board simulations connect governance principles with the situations directors encounter. You will work with fellow participants to examine competing interests, challenge assumptions and reach decisions. HEC Paris’s international approach and Alfaisal CGC’s Saudi governance insight connect these exercises with participants’ organizational contexts.

Practice Decisions Boards Face
  • Global program, locally contextualized: Designed by HEC Paris in collaboration with Alfaisal CGC, combining HEC Paris's global board governance expertise with Saudi market insight and governance priorities.
  • Board simulations: Role-based simulations where information is distributed unevenly across the table, followed by full disclosure and structured debrief.
  • Personal diagnostics: Foundation uses a board behavior survey. Next-Gen includes a proposed psychometric assessment and personalized feedback. Advanced includes a proposed leadership survey.
  • Outputs you keep: Foundation includes a learning journal, a personal development agenda and written exercises on board information and effectiveness. Next-Gen connects learning to personal feedback. Advanced culminates in a personal impact plan.

Before the Program

Prepare through readings and reflection relevant to your program. Any assessment requirements will be shared with the cohort.

During the Program

Participate in facilitated discussion and applied exercises. In Foundation’s second module, a continuous case culminates in a simulation where participants hold different information. The debrief examines what each role knew and how that shaped the decision.

Applying the Learning

Use written exercises and personal reflection to identify changes in your own practice. Foundation emphasizes a learning journal and practical outputs; Next-Gen connects learning to personal feedback; Advanced culminates in a personal impact plan, with coaching subject to cohort arrangements.

Learning with Peers

Discussion and group exercises create opportunities to exchange perspectives with others who work with boards. Cohorts of up to 30 support participation and dialogue.
