Call for Papers: Third International Corporate Governance Conference

Theme: Beyond Compliance: Reimagining Corporate Governance in the Age of AI

The Corporate Governance Center at the College of Business cordially invites academicians, lawyers, policymakers, and business leaders from both Saudi Arabia and abroad to submit abstracts for the Third International Corporate Governance Conference. This conference aims to foster a dialogue on reimagining corporate governance in the age of AI, exploring how to leverage AI for positive impact while mitigating potential risks and ensuring ethical decision-making.

Conference Objectives:

• To foster a global exchange on redefining corporate governance amidst rapid AI advancements.
• To share the latest research and practical insights into the intersection of AI and corporate governance.
• To provide a platform for networking among academics, professionals, and policymakers to foster collaboration.

Conference Date: December 12, 2024

Venue: Intercontinental Hotel, Riyadh

The conference welcomes submissions on a wide range of topics related to corporate governance, including but not limited to:

• Recent trends and challenges in corporate governance
• Effectiveness of boards in corporate governance
• Transparency and accountability in corporate governance
• Shareholder and stakeholder welfare maximization
• Culture and corporate governance
• Diversity, equity, and inclusion in corporate governance
• The impact of corporate governance on international investment
• Artificial intelligence and corporate governance
• The role of regulation and enforcement in corporate governance
• Governance in healthcare: challenges and opportunities
• Governance in healthcare: best practices for non-listed hospitals

Pre-Conference Workshops:

• Corporate Governance Workshop (December 10, 2024): "Moving from Compliance to Good Governance Culture." This workshop will focus on practical steps organizations can take to embed a culture of good governance that transcends compliance.
• Hospital Governance Workshop (December 11, 2024): A specialized session addressing the unique challenges and opportunities in hospital governance frameworks.

Abstract Submission:

• We are accepting 250-word abstract submissions on relevant topics under the conference theme. Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with decisions communicated within one week.
• The extended abstract should include a brief background of the topic, the aims of the paper, research questions, methodology, concepts developed (if a conceptual paper), and findings (or expected findings for empirical papers).
